Ray & Cathi wrote the original Master Mender script in 1980. Although its original title was “But God”, Ray and Cathi, quickly were drawn to the title “Master Mender”, derived from the ending song. They wanted the play to depict Christ as he is, the Master Mender of our lives. It has been produced for 25 consecutive years up to 20 performances per year. The original script has been updated, with the help of many who have been a part of the production over 25 years to fit with the changing times and technology. However, all scenes have been carefully critiqued from the Holy Bible and remain scripturally accurate. Through the realistic and graphic details of Christ’s life shown in this play, we see the unsurpassed love of Christ, His ability to take a broken & shattered life and through his blood, make us whole. Master Mender walks you through the life of our Savior, Emmanuel. It depicts many miracles with his tender healing touch. Several bible characters tell about their experience with Jesus, such as the little boy with 5 loaves and 2 fish. The jealousy and accusations of the Pharisees, and forgiveness and healing of those they brought before him. Then the play moves on to the trial and cruel crucifixion. But that’s not the end of the story. Master Mender leads you all the way through the crucifixion to the resurrection, and back to the cross with a touching invitation to “meet the Master Mender”. During the 25 years of production, there have been hundreds give their hearts and lives to Christ throughout the nation, and we are now looking at taking it to the world.
